I’m a patriotic and fairly well educated country boy born in rural NE Essex who has lived with my wife in Plumstead (near Holt) for the past 21 years. Now retired, I worked as an International and UK Employee Benefit Consultant.
I was an unpaid volunteer of the Occupational Pensions Advisory Service and a member of Round Table for many years. I am currently a member of CPRE [The Campaign for the Protection of Rural England], the National Trust and NOTTT – the campaign group against the Bodham and Selbrigg onshore wind turbines.
I served on Plumstead Parish Council for 17 years [1996 -2014], 8 years as Chairman. My main achievement was setting up and running The Plumstead 2000 Fund which raised in excess of £20,000.00 for the local community over 10 years. Its many projects include the village millennium sign, two parish notice boards, the bus shelter, a flag pole, a lawn mower and shed, a stage and hearing loop for Baconsthorpe village hall as well as generous financial contributions towards the repair of the Church bell, the renovation of the phone box and the purchase of the village defibrillator. It also presented 25 shows at Baconsthorpe village hall for the enjoyment of the local community. Also, as a member of the Parish Council, I raised funds and organised the renovation of the village pond and surrounding area.
I joined the UK Independence Party in 2010.
